Your Smile Is Important To Your Health

We all want the best for our teeth and smiles. People decide to seek an orthodontist in Royal Palm Beach, FL for different reasons. Some may feel embarrassed by their teeth and want to be confident about their smile that maybe isn’t as straight and healthy as it could be. Others may be experiencing jaw pain, discomfort, or strain regularly, and in need of treatment for a straighter and pain-free smile.

Properly aligned teeth aren’t just a matter of vanity and first impressions. Straight teeth and an even bite go a long way towards a healthier mouth and lifestyle. When there are no gaps between your teeth it is easier to brush and floss.

When your bite is correct you can chew foods more effectively, without damage to your teeth or gums. Misaligned teeth can contribute to troubles with breathing or speech. Snoring and sleep apnea are also issues that can often be corrected by orthodontic treatment.

Why You Need An Orthodontic Specialist

Orthodontists focus on the alignment of our teeth and jaws. We not only work with teeth but also with a person’s jaw and facial bones, cosmetically and medically. In other words, certified orthodontists specialize in straightening teeth, as well as, correcting/improving over/underbites, crooked or overcrowded teeth, closing gaps in the teeth, as well jaw problems.

By using tools like x-rays, braces, and other dental appliances, we’re able to detect and correct jaw and tooth alignment issues that may not be apparent on the surface, especially in growing children.

Whatever the reasoning is for someone to see an orthodontist in Royal Palm Beach, if dental issues are left untreated, severe complications that affect your mouth and overall health can commonly occur.

Common Orthodontic Problems

From crowding to space issues our experts will work hard to treat your dental problems as soon a possible, to avoid health complications such as tooth decay, gum disease, and other health risks such as cardiovascular disease (CVD). Catching these possible problems early can help prevent more serious and costly oral issues from popping up later in life.

At Palm Beach Orthodontics, we provide in-depth and personalized orthodontic treatment to each patient, which has successfully corrected everything from a pain in the jaw (TMJ), due to crowding of the teeth, or a misaligned bite/jaw.

We understand that your confidence and self-esteem are important too. So, whatever the reasonings are for being concerned about you or your loved one’s teeth, our team of highly-skilled orthodontics can provide the benefits of a healthy smile and renewed self-confidence.

Orthodontic Services For Teenagers

As your teenager grows and gets older, so do their bones as they continue to develop. Teens and adolescents are at the ideal age for orthodontic treatment because their teeth and jaws can be easily repositioned while they’re still growing, which will help address any problems.

Our teen orthodontic services in Royal Palm Beach will result in straight and healthy teeth/gums, with less risk of jaw pain, tooth decay, gingivitis (gum disease), and other common dental problems.

Your teen should see an orthodontist in Royal Palm Beach if they experience any of the following problems:

  • Dental bite problems (Crossbite, underbite, etc.)
  • Self-esteem or self-confidence issues stemming from their smile
  • Jaws that shift or make noises (TMJ)
  • Difficulty biting or chewing
  • Too much space between teeth
  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Teeth that meet abnormally

Don’t make the mistake of waiting for problems to resolve on their own, as they will worsen over time, and can cause health complications as you get older.

Orthodontic Services For Adults

Orthodontic treatment is a great option for adults who have had trouble with issues they’ve faced since childhood. 1 out of 4 (20%) of adults does see an orthodontist, as it has provided serious benefits and advancements for those suffering from issues with their smile aesthetically or medically.

Some people may require more treatment as an adult, due to the limitations of their original procedure. Oftentimes, crooked or overcrowded teeth are left untreated which can lead to other dental problems such as tooth decay, jaw pain, and gum disease in later life.

Our Orthodontic Treatments

Our team of orthodontists will help you determine the right choice for your individual needs and goals. It’s important to remember that everyone is different, which means what may work best for someone else might not be as effective in helping them achieve their desired results. This includes both short-term and long-term treatment plans!

Receiving care from our orthodontist located in Royal Palm Beach will help correct any misalignment, as well as, other dental issues that may occur. Our treatments include:

Braces

Straightening your teeth is a great way to improve the health and appearance of your smile. Today, there are more orthodontic treatment options and different kinds of braces available for teenagers.

Conventional/modern braces utilize metal brackets and wires to correct the widest array of dental issues including bite problems like overcrowding or gaps that can be due to missing teeth as well as straightening crooked teeth and correcting with misaligned jaws, which can not only help relieve pain but most importantly, give someone a better smile.

It’s important to note, that when getting metal braces, you may experience some soreness or pain in your mouth, lips, and cheeks, for some days following adjustment of the brackets or wires that are being used on you during this process.

This can be relieved by gargling and rinsing with warm salt water to relieve tension on sensitive areas around the teeth where brackets will eventually go. if this doesn’t work then mild painkillers such as Tylenol may also help relieve pain until your mouth begins to adjust.

Invisalign

Many of today’s treatment options are designed to minimize the appearance of the appliance to better fit any lifestyle. Teenagers and adults can be self-conscious about their appearance, which makes them hesitant to know what is best for them.

Invisalign is a type of dental treatment that uses 3D images to create custom trays molded to the shape of one’s teeth. These dental appliances are similar in function and purpose to traditional braces, which successfully move one’s teeth into the correct position and alignment. They’re invisible to the eye and can be removed easily when not needed for eating or drinking liquids throughout the day.

Invisalign does take less time to align your teeth than traditional metal braces, but as everyone’s teeth and oral needs are unique, it’s important to consult with your orthodontist about what’s best for you and your teeth.

Orthodontic Emergency Services

Normal wear and tear on your teeth cause problems that can require immediate attention from an orthodontist. When a problem arises with your teeth, Palm Beach Orthodontics is ready to help.

Most problems in adults and children’s teeth can be managed at home if they don’t require immediate attention, however, our team has all the necessary tools for managing the most common orthodontic emergencies that arise such as:

  • Loose appliances
  • Poking wires
  • Loose brackets
  • Loose wires

If you notice any of the emergency issues we listed above, it’s important to come to call us and come see us in our Royal Palm office location, to avoid complications, and to further avoid hindering any of your treatment progress.
